Aretino Phonograph
Crafted by the O’Neill-James Company in Chicago, this Aretino phonograph from approximately 1904 features a rear-mounted design and traces its origins back to Hawthorne and Sheble. Originally equipped with a 3″ spindle, this phonograph required the use of Aretino brand records. However, this particular model has been adapted to accommodate standard 78’s, enhancing its versatility and eliminating the necessity for specialized records. The device has undergone restoration, including a rebuilt motor and reproducer, while retaining its original finish and patina.
